Ingredients

This recipe requires only two ingredients, and you may already have them on hand!
- Cottage cheese: Use a high-protein base option for this recipe! I prefer using low-fat (1% milkfat) cottage cheese. This is my favorite brand of cottage cheese (affiliate link) because it's high in protein and contains probiotics; however, any brand will work!
- Ranch Seasoning: use pre-made or make your own! This is my favorite brand of ranch! (Affiliate link)

How to Make the Cottage Cheese Ranch Dip

Step 1: Combine the cottage cheese & ranch dressing in a blender.

Step 2: Blend until smooth. (Add a small amount of water if the mixture is too thick). Scrape down the sides until well blended. Serve cold!
Hint: Blending the cottage cheese creates an ultra-smooth texture. You can also use a food processor or immersion blender to blend it.
Substitutions and Variations
Here are a few ways to switch up this recipe!
- Greek Yogurt: Swap cottage cheese for plain Greek yogurt for an even creamier texture with extra protein.
- Non-Dairy Cottage Cheese: Use plant-based cottage cheese for a vegan-friendly option.
- Ranch Dressing Mix: If you don’t have ranch seasoning, a teaspoon of garlic powder, onion powder, and dried herbs can work in a pinch.
- Spicy Kick: Stir in a pinch of cayenne or smoked paprika for a subtle heat. You could also add buffalo or wing sauce for some added zest.
Serving Tips
There are many ways to serve this recipe!
Veggie Platter: Serve chilled with crunchy vegetables like carrots, celery, bell peppers, or cucumber slices for a refreshing, guilt-free snack.
Chips & Crackers: Pair with tortilla chips, pita chips, or whole-grain crackers for a satisfying appetizer.
Wraps & Sandwiches: Spread a layer on wraps, sandwiches, or burgers to add creamy flavor without extra calories.
Protein Boost: Dollop over grilled chicken, roasted veggies, or baked potatoes to turn any meal into a high-protein delight.
Equipment Needed
Blender:
A powerful blender is ideal for blending cottage cheese into a silky, smooth base. It effortlessly combines the cheese and ranch seasoning for a creamy, lump-free dip. You can also use a food processor.
Immersion Blender:
If you prefer a simpler option, an immersion blender works perfectly in a tall cup or bowl. It gives you a smooth texture without the need for transferring ingredients back and forth.
Mixing Bowl and Whisk:
For a chunkier, more rustic version, simply stir the ingredients together in a mixing bowl using a whisk or spoon. You’ll still get plenty of flavor, with a bit more texture in each bite.
Storage Container:
Keep your dip fresh in an airtight container in the fridge. It holds well for a few days, making it perfect for meal prep or snack time. This holds well for a couple of days.

Top Tip
For the creamiest, smoothest dip, blend the cottage cheese and ranch seasoning in a food processor or with an immersion blender until completely silky. Chill for 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors fully meld.
FAQ
Cottage cheese ranch is high in protein, which makes it a great addition to meals or snacks when you're looking to boost your protein intake. It can be high in sodium due to the dry ranch mix, so that’s something to consider depending on your health needs. Overall, it's a higher-protein alternative to regular ranch dressing.
Cottage cheese can be a probiotic, but not all brands are. Only those made with live and active cultures- like some versions of Good Culture or Nancy’s Probiotic Cottage Cheese contain beneficial probiotics. Always check the label for "live and active cultures" if you're looking for gut health benefits.
